A wonderful experience
My husband and I have just had a wonderful meal at this gastro pub. We chose the roast beef & Yorkshire pudding with vegetables. For dessert I had sticky toffee pudding with ice cream whilst my husband had rum & rain ice cream with a rum to pour over the top. Everything was freshly made (no frozen stuff) It was the best meal we have ever had in ages. We highly recommend paying the pub a visit but book a table first. Very friendly welcoming staff.

Found a little gem
I could see the Chef in the kitchen & great smelling dishes coming past us. I ordered a pint of lager & a pink gin & tonic for the other half. We sat down ordered & I went for fillet steak stroganoff & Bev went for two starters Garlic mushrooms & Potato skins. All three dishes where obviously freshly cooked & past delicious we all sampled each other’s food & where more than impressed. Our food was outstanding & my other half said at the table we are coming back here.

Friendly local pub
Had a great afternoon here with friends , nice decor friendly locals and a few well behaved dogs. On our way to Cardiff just stopped off for one but ended up staying longer , very nice comfortable pub worth a visit.

Good value lunch
Nice cosy pub with a real fire. Friendly service and good value pub grub cooked with pride. I can recommend the chicken breast in white wine sauce. Good atmosphere, home cooked food, lovely warm log fire. Would recommend. Excellent value Pool table and darts available.

Popped in & so glad we did!
We were passing through and saw this fantastic building and were curious as it looked amazing. We were not disappointed at all. I had the Steak and ale pie and although don’t normally get excited by a pie I had to complement their chef as it was perfect! My wife was not disappointed by their burgers either. Lovely Staff, great service, not rushed but not too laid back. I would 100% recommend to any travellers looking for a drink and a bite to eat in Cardiff (I hope I spelt that right!)

An all-round great visit - Thank you.
I enjoyed a lovely evening meal of steak and chips in the pub, washed down with a cheeky glass of Merlot. I’m still quite new to solo travel & pub dining but it was easy here because the staff are very friendly & welcoming, excellent service, delicious food, and I really enjoyed the whole visit, thank you .

Perfect resting place!
Stayed for the weekend as a group here for the 3 peaks. The Golden Lion was exactly what we needed as a place to socialise and relax after long days hiking. Great service from all staff we encountered, great beer and bar area with a very welcoming log fire ,lovely restaurant with good menu and great breakfast , great rooms with comfy beds. Location couldn't be better for our requirements.

A lovely stay
Just back from a one night stay in this Pub with rooms and thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed in The Barn conversion just up the road which was spacious, cosy and well appointed. Dinner was very good, as was the service. Breakfast was top quality and the lunch we had after a long walk up Malham Cove was also very good. Just a couple of words of advice. This venue is very dog friendly.

Absolutely lovely meal
We came across this pub on a drive the other day and decided to book in for lunch. Really cosy style pub with lovely log fires, different seating areas and a large car park. There are amazing views from the back of the pub. Extensive menu with something for everyone and the prices are decent also far too many pubs these days yet to make their menus posh and fancy but this one is great home cooked food and lots of choice.
