What more can one say!
The hotels host meets you with a warm greeting. I stayed at this hotel on two occasions the last one Wednesday night this week. The rooms are tastefully decorated and very comfortable. coffee and tea service in the room is actually serviced with real milk. There are a great selection of beers both real ales and lagers not forgetting cider. The menu has a good choice to choose from ( Steak and Ale pie to die for).

Good value lunch
Nice cosy pub with a real fire. Friendly service and good value pub grub cooked with pride. I can recommend the chicken breast in white wine sauce. Good atmosphere, home cooked food, lovely warm log fire. Would recommend. Excellent value Pool table and darts available.

Lovely Hotel, Great Location
The room was lovely. It was spotless. Towels clean and fluffy. Breakfast was spot on. We had drinks in the bar one of the night, good value and plenty of choice too. Will stop here again, perfect location and only a two minute walk from the car park which was cheap for 24 hours.

Great Hospitality
Pulled up outside the and as soon as my friend, Claire,, unloaded my wheelchair 2 customers who were drinking outside nipped in the pub and came out with a ramp for me to enter, Nice friendly landlord and staff and a choice of 10 real ales, heaven on earth. There is also a roomy and well laid out disabled toilet with facilities for washing and changing babies. All this and the best yet to come, 4 hours of stunning Irish traditional music, some great songs and singing and great craic.

Great place and superb location
Popped in for lunch. Warm welcome from the landlord and staff. Meal was freshly prepared and thoroughly enjoyable. We had a table overlooking the peninsula which was picture postcard. Very good prices.

Chilled out!
We have just returned from a wonderful stay at the Gilpin Hotel and Spa. After a great Spa session with treatment, and a fantastic dinner, we had a peaceful overnight stay with an amazing breakfast. The service was exceptional. Every single member of staff was friendly and professional, and made us feel very comfortable and welcome. Our lake view room was perfect for our needs, and the bed was super comfortable. We look forward to returning for some more 'pure relaxation' very soon.

Stayed for the weekend as a group here for the 3 peaks. The Golden Lion was exactly what we needed as a place to socialise and relax after long days hiking. Great service from all staff we encountered, great beer and bar area with a very welcoming log fire ,lovely restaurant with good menu and great breakfast , great rooms with comfy beds. Location couldn't be better for our requirements.

Brilliant experience
7 of us went for a few drinks and a bite to eat. It didn’t disappoint from walking through the door. The staff were so friendly, the service was perfect. The food was out of this world. Will definitely be back and really looking forward to it!

Catch up with a friend.
Called in after work for tea and a catch up with a friend. Service was friendly and it was explained there would be a short delay with food as they were very busy and food was cooked fresh. This was not a problem and the food was well worth the wait(which wasn’t long)! I had cheese & onion pie and my friend had steak and ale pie, made fresh and cooked to perfection, served with fresh veg and home cooked chips. It was delicious! Will definitely be going back.

Pub that sells good beer.
I visit the New Inn regularly, this is your traditional "boozer" and like marmite you will either love it or hate it. It consists of 4 rooms plus a bar area, a large rear beer garden "yard" and a smaller drinks area at the front. The main selling point is the choice of well kept beers (usually about 8 cask bitters) at reasonable prices. It doesn't do food other than crisps and there is no background music or slot machines - you have to make your own conversation which most people seem to manage.

A wonderful experience
My husband and I have just had a wonderful meal at this gastro pub. We chose the roast beef & Yorkshire pudding with vegetables. For dessert I had sticky toffee pudding with ice cream whilst my husband had rum & rain ice cream with a rum to pour over the top. Everything was freshly made (no frozen stuff) It was the best meal we have ever had in ages. We highly recommend paying the pub a visit but book a table first. Very friendly welcoming staff.

Probably the best beer this year.
This is a proper local pub with proper beer with good conversation a warm a welcome for old and new customers, no loud music nice cosy fires on a cold night. Having spent a week on holiday in the forest of Bowland I was beginning to despair there are lots of 'pubs' doing food but I have a dog, who luckily for me, loves pubs and it seems around here the two are not compatible.
