Amazing meal
Visited Friday night 3rd February. The fact that my husband is both Gluten and Dairy intolerant was not a problem at all. ( bliss) stunning lamb shank that literally fell off the bone. Dessert, sorted two choices of gluten and dairy free tart for my husband and vegan ice cream. All this on our doorstep. Thank you so much you never disappoint.

Worth every penny!
We booked late but were still accommodated. Greeted by friendly staff. The food choices were just brilliant and we all found so many things we wanted to eat it was hard to choose. In the end we had a portion of crab arrancini which was delicate, crispy and tasty whilst we waited for our starters My husband and I had scallops from the specials to begin, he then had belly pork with mash and pork cheek and I had hake Kiev. Both were just lovely and I stopped short of licking the plate!

Perfect resting place!
Stayed for the weekend as a group here for the 3 peaks. The Golden Lion was exactly what we needed as a place to socialise and relax after long days hiking. Great service from all staff we encountered, great beer and bar area with a very welcoming log fire ,lovely restaurant with good menu and great breakfast , great rooms with comfy beds. Location couldn't be better for our requirements.

Merry Christmas meal.
The pub is clean and tastefully decorated. The table was dressed appropriately for the season and the food was the best Christmas meal I have had anywhere!!!!! Everything beautifully presented and piping hot. I started with pigs in blankets with the best piece of crackling ever. The turkey melted in the mouth and roasties and mash were superb The Christmas pudding was rich but not too heavy and piping hot custard just right.

I’m coming back.
Very welcoming place from the moment we walked in. Seamus was our host and showed us to our rooms. He worked there for our entire stay and we wanted for nothing as he was very attentive. The room was spacious, clean, teas, coffee and hot chocolate in the room. A fridge with cold bottled water and milk for the tea was just outside in the hall. The shower was lovely. We ate dinner here at night and breakfast in the morning. No complaints whatsoever.

A wonderful experience!
Lovely warm welcome, lovely table with plenty of space and we noticed imm all tables were well spaced. Great specials menu plus a special sandwich menu for those who fancied a light lunch. Main menu was very impressive and finally we both went for the twice baked cheese soufflé. Divine. Then I went for the Hake Kiev which was delicious and something I’d never had before. My wife had the fish pie which she loved both very tasty and great value. Washed down with a few glasses of Rose.

Well worth a visit!
Excellent food, excellent service and value for money. The menu is simple but with plenty of choice, portion sizes generous but not over facing and the food is good honest home cooked food by a chef who obviously knows what he is doing. It’s a long time since I’ve eaten at the Bay and I will be going back for more.

An all-round great visit - Thank you.
I enjoyed a lovely evening meal of steak and chips in the pub, washed down with a cheeky glass of Merlot. I’m still quite new to solo travel & pub dining but it was easy here because the staff are very friendly & welcoming, excellent service, delicious food, and I really enjoyed the whole visit, thank you .

Sunday lunch with the family.
Had the roast beef dinner which was delicious and plentiful, the roast chicken is a chicken breast, cooked to perfection, for dessert we opted for the toffee apple crumble and custard, again delicious, compliments to the chef, we had a table facing the window with lovely views far and beyond, accommodating and lovely staff, deff worth a visit

Gorgeous country pub
Just what you needed on a miserable Misty cold day. Roaring fire and cosy oldie worldy decor. Lots of parking. Very pleasant staff. The fish butty ( on a brioche bun) & mushy peas also with skinny fries. The beer battered haddock was beautiful. The goosnargh chicken BLT on brioche was also spot on and will definitely return. Highly recommended

Fantastic stay!
We were attending a Wedding in Cardiff and the Langdale Hotel was recommended to us, and we were not disappointed, 6 of us had a brilliant overnight stay, Amanda the Landlady was extremely friendly, and the Breakfast was lovely, nothing was too much trouble, I would definitely stay again.

Probably the best beer this year.
This is a proper local pub with proper beer with good conversation a warm a welcome for old and new customers, no loud music nice cosy fires on a cold night. Having spent a week on holiday in the forest of Bowland I was beginning to despair there are lots of 'pubs' doing food but I have a dog, who luckily for me, loves pubs and it seems around here the two are not compatible.
