All the staff are great and a big thank you to everyone - reception, waiters / bar staff and great gardeners who keep the grounds perfect.  Latest Review :   "We have just returned from a 3 night stay at Hillthwaite Hotel. We stayed in Room 210 (Langdale) and our friends stayed in Room 15. We had an amazing time. The hotel is a little tricky to find so keep your eyes peeled for the driveway off Thornbarrow Road (although it is signposted). There were enough parking bays at the hotel, but the area is a little small, making it a bit tricky to manoeuvre in some spots. We were welcomed upon arrival and we had a cream tea prior to checking in (which we had prebooked)."

Family birthday

The staff were very helpful on arrival by holding the door open as some of our party had mobility issues. Very welcoming. Busy pub but staff very efficient without rushing guests to choose food or drink. Excellent food. Good sized portions. Had salmon and prawn cocktail. Duck chorizo salad and goats cheese parcel. Mains were beef and mushrooms pot pie and thai salmon salad. Very tasty.

What more can one say!

The hotels host meets you with a warm greeting. I stayed at this hotel on two occasions the last one Wednesday night this week. The rooms are tastefully decorated and very comfortable. coffee and tea service in the room is actually serviced with real milk. There are a great selection of beers both real ales and lagers not forgetting cider. The menu has a good choice to choose from ( Steak and Ale pie to die for).

Definitely a hidden gem

Came across this lovely pub while on a day out to Cardiff. Friendly helpful staff, food was amazing I had small breakfast and my partner had a steak baguette it was the best food we have had in a long while. Highly recommend it does say 2 for £12 meals but clearly states on the board selected meals. Staff couldn’t do enough and is a hidden gem in Cardiff

As always the food and service were excellent, we were a party of 5 and everyone enjoyed their meals, excellent value at £10.00 for a main in a Tuesday with a quiz and bingo, couldn't ask for a better night.

Fantastic stopover.

We arrived late due to traffic, well after the restaurant was closed. However Anthony and his team made us very welcome and even prepared us a lovely sandwich plater. The family room we had booked was prepared lovely and very comfortable to sleep in. This overnight stay was then finished off with a fantastic breakfast. Thank you Anthony and your great team

Nice cosy rural pub

This is always a great pub everytime we come here we know the beer is always perfect and as for they serve is proper pub food at pub prices the homemade steak pie is a proper pie as it should be as for the homemade curry it was spot on cooked just as we like it great choice of gins and over 100 whiskies to choose from the staff are very friendly ,

Fabulous Hosts!

The Room we stayed in at the Bull was very clean and spacious, lots of hot water for a bath etc. TV good, bed comfy. The breakfast on Sunday morning was massive, everything you would want from cereal, FULL English, large pot of tea or coffee, toast, jams etc. presented beautifully at the time we requested 9.0 am, forgot to mention Saturday night meal again was excellent, we eat there regular through out the season.

Great village pub.

I’d heard very good things about the new management.The service was friendly, the food was absolutely brilliant. Good wholesome pub food. I had the steak pie which was lovely, with a lovely rich gravy. All plates cleared. We will definitely return, I think if this is the standard, the other pubs in the area should be worried. Wonderful food and service

Came here for the first time today as part of the Porsche Club. We had pre-ordered food for circa 40 people. Parking was reserved for us. What a hidden gem this place is. Great food, very well organised for such a large group. We were made very welcome and I will be returning in the next week or so as a couple. All the food looked fabulous.Thank you.

Great value

Under new management and thought me an the missus would try out the new menu. The beer in here is always top notch and the food was great really good value for money. Had 2 courses a few drink bill was about £40 well worth it and just what we needed. Will definitely be back. Thanks very much guys
