Hosts Caroline and Jonathan make you feel so very welcome, and nothing is too much trouble. We will most certainly be booking another return visit in the future. Rabbits roam the grounds and the sunsets superb.The main house with bar and restaurant, also lovely. The food in the bar - all day dining- was fantastic.  Latest Review :   "We have just returned from a 3 night stay at Hillthwaite Hotel. We stayed in Room 210 (Langdale) and our friends stayed in Room 15. We had an amazing time. The hotel is a little tricky to find so keep your eyes peeled for the driveway off Thornbarrow Road (although it is signposted). There were enough parking bays at the hotel, but the area is a little small, making it a bit tricky to manoeuvre in some spots. We were welcomed upon arrival and we had a cream tea prior to checking in (which we had prebooked)."

Storrs Hall is a beautiful Lake District AA 4 Star hotel; a striking Grade II* listed Georgian Mansion house set right on the shoreline of Lake Windermere. It is unique in the Lake District. A lovely stay

Just back from a one night stay in this Pub with rooms and thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed in The Barn conversion just up the road which was spacious, cosy and well appointed. Dinner was very good, as was the service. Breakfast was top quality and the lunch we had after a long walk up Malham Cove was also very good. Just a couple of words of advice. This venue is very dog friendly.

Fantastic stay!

We were attending a Wedding in Cardiff and the Langdale Hotel was recommended to us, and we were not disappointed, 6 of us had a brilliant overnight stay, Amanda the Landlady was extremely friendly, and the Breakfast was lovely, nothing was too much trouble, I would definitely stay again.

Lovely food.

Myself and my partner went for a meal after work. I've got to say the steak was perfect. I always order medium rare and in a lot of restaurants it can be hit and miss. But it was perfect. My partners pie was delicious. Loved the Christmas decorations and ambience. Even though the manageress was on her own there was no fault in service. We will be back very soon.

Great place and superb location

Popped in for lunch. Warm welcome from the landlord and staff. Meal was freshly prepared and thoroughly enjoyable. We had a table overlooking the peninsula which was picture postcard. Very good prices.

Nipped in for dinner.

Had a nice pint of Guinness and the other half had a Moretti, both were nice drinks. Onto the food. I ordered the Steak and Ale Pie, and the Mrs had Fish and Chips. It's the best steak and ale pie I have ever had and the fish was fresh, white and flaky. With real chips alongside both meals, I can't fault one thing. Overall, lovely little pub, lovely staff and lovely food. The other half said she wants to come here for dinner every day, now that's a first.

Friendly local pub

Had a great afternoon here with friends , nice decor friendly locals and a few well behaved dogs. On our way to Cardiff just stopped off for one but ended up staying longer , very nice comfortable pub worth a visit.

Staff top marks from us

Brilliant service nice food attentive staff and very reasonable price I took my 2 teenage kids they had a burger and lasagne and I also had burger.just a great friendly place to eat keep up the good work parking great at the rear.

Food to die for!

I went with my son on Saturday 4th September. We had fillet steak skewers and the lasagne. Was beautiful. Staff was really nice and nothing to much trouble. Well done to you all and we will be returning soon.

Just the tonic

Good homely tasty food, substantial portions. If you have a hearty appetite choose the large options. My partner had liver, bacon and onions served with veg and choice of chips or mash. I opted for lasagne with salad and either chips or garlic bread. Spotlessly clean tables and toilets immaculate. Staff warm and friendly - beer excellent. Definitely another visit on the cards.
