Valentines meal in Cardiff
My partner and I booked for Valentines and his birthday. We have eaten here many times and have always found the food to be excellent. We were happy the venue had chosen to offer their main menu alongside some special menu items for Valentines rather than offering only a set Valentines menu like other venues, it gave more of a relaxed feel to the evening. The food, as always, was exceptionally good and the service, firendly and attentive.

Excellent stay at the Inn
Lovely clean and comfortable room. Staff were friendly and helpful. Arrived after long train journey, managed to get a table for dinner. Had lovely apparently small fish and chips and a beer. Breakfast included in the stay, this was also excellent. If I have to go to Cardiff again I would definitely stay in this hotel. Great location as only short walk from train station.

Merry Christmas meal.
The pub is clean and tastefully decorated. The table was dressed appropriately for the season and the food was the best Christmas meal I have had anywhere!!!!! Everything beautifully presented and piping hot. I started with pigs in blankets with the best piece of crackling ever. The turkey melted in the mouth and roasties and mash were superb The Christmas pudding was rich but not too heavy and piping hot custard just right.

A lovely stay
Just back from a one night stay in this Pub with rooms and thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed in The Barn conversion just up the road which was spacious, cosy and well appointed. Dinner was very good, as was the service. Breakfast was top quality and the lunch we had after a long walk up Malham Cove was also very good. Just a couple of words of advice. This venue is very dog friendly.

Exceptional place to stay
As soon as you walk in you are made to feel very welcome. The Landlord is very friendly and chatty. The pub itself is very cosy and I recommend their restaurant, they serve delicious homemade food. The bedrooms are very clean and comfortable, as well as tea/coffee making facilities they also provide a ‘breakfast’ box which was a nice surprise. Overall I would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely lovely meal
We came across this pub on a drive the other day and decided to book in for lunch. Really cosy style pub with lovely log fires, different seating areas and a large car park. There are amazing views from the back of the pub. Extensive menu with something for everyone and the prices are decent also far too many pubs these days yet to make their menus posh and fancy but this one is great home cooked food and lots of choice.

Wow! Fabulous.
Went today for lunch ...lovely modern decor', very lovely staff..so very friendly and super manager/owner. The young lady who served us is a credit to this business. We had Cheese and Onion pie (which is the best i've ever tasted)with chunky Chips with skins on..oh they were so soft and fluffy... my partner has Fish and Chips which he said was gorgeous. We will definatly be returning and taking friends with us. Thank you guys

Chilled out!
We have just returned from a wonderful stay at the Gilpin Hotel and Spa. After a great Spa session with treatment, and a fantastic dinner, we had a peaceful overnight stay with an amazing breakfast. The service was exceptional. Every single member of staff was friendly and professional, and made us feel very comfortable and welcome. Our lake view room was perfect for our needs, and the bed was super comfortable. We look forward to returning for some more 'pure relaxation' very soon.

Amazing meal
Visited Friday night 3rd February. The fact that my husband is both Gluten and Dairy intolerant was not a problem at all. ( bliss) stunning lamb shank that literally fell off the bone. Dessert, sorted two choices of gluten and dairy free tart for my husband and vegan ice cream. All this on our doorstep. Thank you so much you never disappoint.

Top quality as ever
Been a few times over the years and it never disappoints. Booked ahead as very popular for Sunday lunch. Staff friendly and welcoming and the food was excellent as ever. Roast beef dinners and pizza plus some takeaways from the bakery. A real gem of a place

Tasty!!
Nipped in for a quick drink the other day and ended up having lunch. Food was great, everything we had was ‘pub grub’ but elevated with presentation and tasted great. Definitely one of our favourite places to visit and the patisserie is sublime. Thank you.
