A real treat!

Stayed in one of the cottages and was lovely. View over part of the bridge and river - very cosy and warm. Comfy beds and quality linen. We only stayed the one night and ate in the restaurant but the kitchen would have had everything we needed had we been self catering. Food was excellent. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. This is a famous, old and historic inn that we have visited nearly all our lives but have never stayed or eaten here - but we will be back

Good food, nice atmosphere

I think it's good that they don't try to over-complicate things, but still have a few interesting options. The beef stew was very nice and a bit different to mainstream dishes. I don't think they overcomplicate things though and that is good; more like pubs and pub food used to be. A good meal at a reasonable price.

Highly recommended

When I travel to Cardiff I always try and book in at this inn. I have never had a bad experience and would fully recommend it. I have always had a warm welcome from the staff and they cannot do enough to ensure that I have a great stay. Its a combination of good accommodation and a great restaurant and bar on site.

Fantastic stay!

We were attending a Wedding in Cardiff and the Langdale Hotel was recommended to us, and we were not disappointed, 6 of us had a brilliant overnight stay, Amanda the Landlady was extremely friendly, and the Breakfast was lovely, nothing was too much trouble, I would definitely stay again.

Valentines meal in Cardiff

My partner and I booked for Valentines and his birthday. We have eaten here many times and have always found the food to be excellent. We were happy the venue had chosen to offer their main menu alongside some special menu items for Valentines rather than offering only a set Valentines menu like other venues, it gave more of a relaxed feel to the evening. The food, as always, was exceptionally good and the service, firendly and attentive.

A great team of staff

Lovely warm and welcoming hotel with fantastic staff who couldn't do enough for us. My mother ended up in the area, when on holiday in the lake district with my dad, he suffered a heart attack and was fetched to Cardiff. I rang the hotel and they managed to accommodate my mum and the dog with out any issues at all. The staff were all very sympathetic and even held the dog while mum could go get some dog food from across the road.

The best Sunday lunch!

We visited 12 months ago, and had the best Sunday Roast ever! This time it didn’t disappoint! Delicious and amazing home made desserts if you have room! 😊 Lovely friendly welcome and service. Highly recommend.

Centrally located and comfortable stay.

A lovely hotel centrally located. We parked on a council car park across from this Cardiff hotel which was fine. Room was large and comfortable, and the shower was brilliant. Breakfast was lovely, lots of choice on the menu and staff were very friendly and attentive. We have already booked our return visit!

Just the tonic

Good homely tasty food, substantial portions. If you have a hearty appetite choose the large options. My partner had liver, bacon and onions served with veg and choice of chips or mash. I opted for lasagne with salad and either chips or garlic bread. Spotlessly clean tables and toilets immaculate. Staff warm and friendly - beer excellent. Definitely another visit on the cards.

Great food, good price

Real fires, great service and good food at an excellent price. If you want cheap and cheerful head to the Buck across the bridge. If you want quality at a decent price the Lister is the place for you. Dogs welcome. Good range of bitters.

Wonderful place!

This was the second time we had stayed here but the first time for our friends. We all had a great time the girls had a lovely afternoon clay pigeon shooting whilst we went off getting Land Rovers dirty. We all met up in the bar after our events and sat around the log burner as it had been a cold day. The bar area was really cosy and the bar had a good choice of real ales. The staff were really friendly and looked after us well.

Great place to stopover!

Stayed for 2 nights just as Storm Dennis was kicking in, exceptionally windy and wet!! Checked in and were given a room in the new part of the hotel, looking out over the sea, although the room was smallish, it was warm and cosy, food was good and reasonably priced, worth a visit.

Great food, decent karaoke

In the day you can get decent food at a great price - the Sunday lunches are particularly great. At night it turns in to a banging venue absolutely jam packed with fertile scrat bags. Saturday evening karaoke is not to be missed (although some of the singers are of variable quality) Drinks are reasonably priced as well - what’s not to like?

Lunch time visit great Gastro pub

Called in for lunch only £6 each well worth it. Lovely cooked breakfast with chips and lasagna. Will definitely return when back in Cardiff. Thank you
