 Latest Review :   "Having stayed here before we wanted somewhere special for my 60th birthday, and we were not to be disappointed. We could not fault anything about this amazing hotel. Hosts Caroline and Jonathan make you feel so very welcome, and nothing is too much trouble. We will most certainly be booking another return visit in the future. Set in in its own beautiful grounds which are immaculately maintained, it is so peaceful and quiet, although it’s only a short walk to the centre of Windermere."

 Latest Review :   "We have just returned from a 3 night stay at Hillthwaite Hotel. We stayed in Room 210 (Langdale) and our friends stayed in Room 15. We had an amazing time. The hotel is a little tricky to find so keep your eyes peeled for the driveway off Thornbarrow Road (although it is signposted). There were enough parking bays at the hotel, but the area is a little small, making it a bit tricky to manoeuvre in some spots. We were welcomed upon arrival and we had a cream tea prior to checking in (which we had prebooked)."

All the staff are great and a big thank you to everyone - reception, waiters / bar staff and great gardeners who keep the grounds perfect. A massive thankyou to Kimia who was wonderful and loved our black spaniel molly. Storrs Hall is a beautiful Lake District AA 4 Star hotel; a striking Grade II* listed Georgian Mansion house set right on the shoreline of Lake Windermere. It is unique in the Lake District. We have 36 bedrooms, 29 of which in the main house retain their original architecture so every room is different – a benefit of which is that we can accommodate families in larger rooms, or a combination of adjoining rooms. Centrally located and comfortable stay.

A lovely hotel centrally located. We parked on a council car park across from this Cardiff hotel which was fine. Room was large and comfortable, and the shower was brilliant. Breakfast was lovely, lots of choice on the menu and staff were very friendly and attentive. We have already booked our return visit!

Great place to stay

Good Views, Friendly Staff & Place

Stopped in one of their ground floor rooms, WiFi was good which was needed & the view from the room was lovely. Anthony & All the Staff were helpful and a made my stay more than comfortable. The Breakfast was (for me) spot on every morning and a great way to start the day with a smile from the Staff

Great food and lovely place!

Just saw this pub from the car after a very long day of caving and walking, having three starving children in the back I stopped immediately and we went in to have a fish and chips and maybe a bag of crisps for myself as I was 100% sure there will be no vegan food at all. For my biggest surprise we found a great little place, a very nice menu with a whole section of vegetarian and vegan dishes and all was amazing! The staff was super kind,

Tasty!!

Nipped in for a quick drink the other day and ended up having lunch. Food was great, everything we had was ‘pub grub’ but elevated with presentation and tasted great. Definitely one of our favourite places to visit and the patisserie is sublime. Thank you.

Fantastic stay!

We were attending a Wedding in Cardiff and the Langdale Hotel was recommended to us, and we were not disappointed, 6 of us had a brilliant overnight stay, Amanda the Landlady was extremely friendly, and the Breakfast was lovely, nothing was too much trouble, I would definitely stay again.

Fine dining at it's best

We all had a fantastic time at the griffin yesterday. the surroundings are beautiful, the staff and service were excellent...and the food!!, in a word, AMAZING! Well done chef/owner Lee Wright this place is certainly going to be a success.

Lovely Hotel, Great Location

The room was lovely. It was spotless. Towels clean and fluffy. Breakfast was spot on. We had drinks in the bar one of the night, good value and plenty of choice too. Will stop here again, perfect location and only a two minute walk from the car park which was cheap for 24 hours.

Merry Christmas meal.

The pub is clean and tastefully decorated. The table was dressed appropriately for the season and the food was the best Christmas meal I have had anywhere!!!!! Everything beautifully presented and piping hot. I started with pigs in blankets with the best piece of crackling ever. The turkey melted in the mouth and roasties and mash were superb The Christmas pudding was rich but not too heavy and piping hot custard just right.

Stopped by here on our way to the coast.

Given a warm friendly welcome by the barmaid we ordered drinks and asked if they were serving food told sorry no finishes at 2pm, it was 2.03pm.However off she went to check with the kitchen and told yes you can order food, and that's what you call customer service. We both ordered club sandwich and oh boy was it worth the wait, toasted bloomer with a side of fries and side salad. It was absolutely gorgeous and a huge portion.

Gorgeous country pub

Just what you needed on a miserable Misty cold day. Roaring fire and cosy oldie worldy decor. Lots of parking. Very pleasant staff. The fish butty ( on a brioche bun) & mushy peas also with skinny fries. The beer battered haddock was beautiful. The goosnargh chicken BLT on brioche was also spot on and will definitely return. Highly recommended

The best Sunday lunch!

We visited 12 months ago, and had the best Sunday Roast ever! This time it didn’t disappoint! Delicious and amazing home made desserts if you have room! 😊 Lovely friendly welcome and service. Highly recommend.
