A great trip
Exactly what we needed. The pub also does some sensational non traditional dishes. They where so lovely when I popped a party canon they laughed and joined our celebrations. The owner of the pub was so kind and gave us a donation towards our charity RASA whom we where doing the hike for. Would recommend and go back! Thanks so much, have a great rest of the year everyone.

Great stay with great service
Turned up with a party of 16, had to add a plus one and was well accommodated, really good food and service, mine didn't arrive as expected but the team put it right straight away, always difficult with a large party of people, but the food came almost simultaneously for everyone which was unexpected, food was excellent from that point, the place has a lovely historic feel to it as several of our party had been here before over the last couple of decades, would definitely return myself.

Excellent first visit
Chose the this pub simply because its local and I hadn't eaten here before. I took my mum with me and we had a starter, main course and dessert. Everything we ate was delicious, well cooked and piping hot. The staff were very efficient and friendly and the whole place was well decorated with a friendly atmosphere. My only regret is I didn't visit sooner I will definitely be back.

Best Sunday Lunch
Popped in today on way back from Manchester for a Sunday Lunch. We last went 4 months ago. The Service & food where excellent as usual. I had the lamb & asked for mint sauce to find out they hadn’t got any & the kitchen had been closed for 10 weeks & opened yesterday. If they can turn out food this good after after 48 Hrs I will be back in a week. Just go the food is that good.

Wonderful stay
Wonderful time we had. Rooms are great, location is perfect, staff is wonderful. We had a great stay and will be coming back hopefully. Breakfast was included and it is a plus. If you need to get to the university thé bus is right around the corner. We did not have the opportunity to try the restaurant but it seemed great.

Fabulous Hosts!
The Room we stayed in at the Bull was very clean and spacious, lots of hot water for a bath etc. TV good, bed comfy. The breakfast on Sunday morning was massive, everything you would want from cereal, FULL English, large pot of tea or coffee, toast, jams etc. presented beautifully at the time we requested 9.0 am, forgot to mention Saturday night meal again was excellent, we eat there regular through out the season.

Great food, good price
Real fires, great service and good food at an excellent price. If you want cheap and cheerful head to the Buck across the bridge. If you want quality at a decent price the Lister is the place for you. Dogs welcome. Good range of bitters.

Excellent all round.
Visited today for Sunday Lunch. It was our 4th visit here and worth the 1 hour drive as the food is in a different league to similar establishments near me. I would go as far as to say the quality of the food rivals the Barn at Moor Hall which has a Michelin Star. The Bill was £150 for 3 courses for 3 people including drinks which for the standard is very acceptable. Service was very good and the majority of the staff are very young so well done to them and very well done to the kitchen.

Definitely coming back soon!
We arrived here early last Friday and the owner reopened the kitchen for us to have some breakfast. Our accommodation was upgraded as that room was ready. We stayed in a family room which was lovely. Comfy bed and a bath which is perfect to soak the muscles after a long walk up and around Arnside knott. We also ate our evening meal here and was very nice. Very friendly. Staff were lovely and the location is just amazing.

Absolutely excellent
Well worth the effort to visit , we had the fish and chips x2 plus the southern fried chicken tenders and chips, I can honestly say it was the best fish and chips I’ve ever eaten out couldn’t fault it , my wife said her fried chicken was really tasty , the place itself is tastefully decorated and you can tell they have a pride about the way it looks. We would not hesitate to recommend this Inn, also a mention to the lady who looked after us Alice , brilliant!
