Latest Review :   "I love this hotel and the location is idyllic. Being dog friendly is a big plus. All the staff are great and a big thank you to everyone - reception, waiters / bar staff and great gardeners who keep the grounds perfect. A massive thankyou to Kimia who was wonderful and loved our black spaniel molly. Kimia is destined to go far, I know she is on placement while studying, but I hope that when she qualifies she will return to Cragwood and we will see her again. Also thank you to the management."

Latest Review :   "We have just returned from a 3 night stay at Hillthwaite Hotel. We stayed in Room 210 (Langdale) and our friends stayed in Room 15. We had an amazing time. The hotel is a little tricky to find so keep your eyes peeled for the driveway off Thornbarrow Road (although it is signposted). There were enough parking bays at the hotel, but the area is a little small, making it a bit tricky to manoeuvre in some spots. We were welcomed upon arrival and we had a cream tea prior to checking in (which we had prebooked)."

Wonderful stay

Wonderful time we had. Rooms are great, location is perfect, staff is wonderful. We had a great stay and will be coming back hopefully. Breakfast was included and it is a plus. If you need to get to the university thé bus is right around the corner. We did not have the opportunity to try the restaurant but it seemed great.

Fabulous overnight stay.

Beautiful location, easy & fast check in. Friendly and helpful staff. We used the spa facilities and enjoyed an evening meal and full English breakfast the next morning. Definitely going to return and enjoy the beautiful countryside around Skipton and The Dales.

Excellent experience

Good, fresh food well cooked, great value for money. Attentive service but not fussy and very well kept beer! As I found out later that they are award winners. The log fire was lovely and cosy and certainly contributed to the warm friendly pub. We will definitely be back, and not just for our 10% discount.

Fabulous Hosts!

The Room we stayed in at the Bull was very clean and spacious, lots of hot water for a bath etc. TV good, bed comfy. The breakfast on Sunday morning was massive, everything you would want from cereal, FULL English, large pot of tea or coffee, toast, jams etc. presented beautifully at the time we requested 9.0 am, forgot to mention Saturday night meal again was excellent, we eat there regular through out the season.

Excellent first visit.

Chose this pub simply because its local and I hadn't eaten here before. I took my mum with me and we had a starter, main course and dessert. Everything we ate was delicious, well cooked and piping hot. The staff were very efficient and friendly and the whole place was well decorated with a friendly atmosphere. My only regret is I didn't visit sooner I will definitely be back.

Exceptional place to stay

As soon as you walk in you are made to feel very welcome. The Landlord is very friendly and chatty. The pub itself is very cosy and I recommend their restaurant, they serve delicious homemade food. The bedrooms are very clean and comfortable, as well as tea/coffee making facilities they also provide a ‘breakfast’ box which was a nice surprise. Overall I would definitely stay here again.

Fabulous Food

Popped in for an evening meal as we were staying at a local hotel. The food was excellent. In fact the food was better than some meals I have had in certain restaurants. A huge surprise from a local Public House. Will definitely be back for their Sunday Roast. Thank you !

Christmas visit

Stayed for two nights Christmas Eve and Christmas day. A very warm welcome and Cardiffd in. Lovely relaxing bar area to enjoy a pint or two, we had dinner in the courtyard which had been transformed into a Winter wonderland seating area, warm heaters and blankets are supplied if it's chilly. We ordered dinner with a very competent waitress, the food was superb. After a restful sleep we woke and went down for breakfast, good choice and again very tasty.

Brilliant night

As always the food and service were excellent, we were a party of 5 and everyone enjoyed their meals, excellent value at £10.00 for a main in a Tuesday with a quiz and bingo, couldn't ask for a better night.

Definitely Recommend

We were made to feel really welcome and even the dog got treats. Whilst this establishment is super dog friendly even providing mats for them to lay on in the pub, there were also seating options for those without furry friends. The room was really clean with lovely homemade biscuits and choice of hot drinks all lovingly presented. We ate in the bar and food was lovely, we had one small issue which was resolved quickly once raised. The atmosphere is relaxed and we enjoyed a few drinks.

Catch up with a friend.

Called in after work for tea and a catch up with a friend. Service was friendly and it was explained there would be a short delay with food as they were very busy and food was cooked fresh. This was not a problem and the food was well worth the wait(which wasn’t long)! I had cheese & onion pie and my friend had steak and ale pie, made fresh and cooked to perfection, served with fresh veg and home cooked chips. It was delicious! Will definitely be going back.

Centrally located and comfortable stay.

A lovely hotel centrally located. We parked on a council car park across from this Cardiff hotel which was fine. Room was large and comfortable, and the shower was brilliant. Breakfast was lovely, lots of choice on the menu and staff were very friendly and attentive. We have already booked our return visit!
